My life is my art.
My intention with the beach imagery is not to simply create a painting, but to replicate life itself on a scale both small and large. By creating compositions within compositions, the eye is led from sweeping panoramas to the intimate conversations heard along the shoreline.
The intent is to capture the most essential and primal qualities of humans in relation to our earth. I want you to not only feel the moment depicted in the painting, but also the moment before and the moment after. Your mind’s eye should lead you beyond the borders of the frame, until you see all of humanity running, crawling, sitting and walking upon this spinning orb.
I know the beach painting is done when I can hear it.
The focus of the still life paintings is the stuff of my everyday life. Perceived through my personal experience and translated onto canvas or panel.
"I know the beach painting is done when I can hear it."
