This exhibition catalogue commemorates the introduction of Thiebaud's clowns as a new body of work with fity-six paintings in the show, all of which are fully illustrated. This catalogue features an an essay written by Julia Friedman, art historian, critic, and curator based in Los Angeles; and an interview by Janet Bishop, the Thomas Weisel Family Chief Curator and Curator of Painting and Sculpture at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
